NaNoWriMo 2017

Wha- What is this? Has hell frozen over? 4 posts in one month? Yeah well, I am trying my best to keep myself organized even if just for a bit. As I have mentioned, I have been doing a lot  of early shifts - which has fucked up (pardon my french) my sleeping schedule but oh well - and that leaves me with a lot of free time to think and actually use the rest of my day to do productive things. For this reason, I was cleaning up my inbox (which had almost 2k emails) and I saw one email that stood out. Allow me to explain this from the actual beginning... It all started 4 years ago. I was bored on Tumblr and I found out about this website called NaNoWriMo. I clicked on a link and soon found myself signing up for an account on this website. NaNoWriMo is National Novel Writing Month, this means that the people who create an account pledge to write a novel of at least 50k words throughout the month, and it so turns out that this month is November. I decided to write a story and...

Early Shifts

They say working in the airport is all fun and games, that you have discounts everywhere and it's like a dream come true. I'm not gonna lie to you, airport food is crap; nothing is cheap; there's only discounts in a few selected places. This is why you need to work on improving your friendship skills and make the wheels turn or you will never get free food or just a simple free White Chocolate Mocha from Starbucks. For the past two weeks, I've been meaning to post the previous post, it was sitting on my drafts since October 8 but I never had the chance to do it. Why's that, you ask? Well, allow me to tell you a bit of how my last couple weeks were. The earliest shift one can get at JD starts at 4am. It's all okay when you're doing it for the first time, but then you have another one of them the next day, and then another one of the day after that... You get what I am saying. By the time I started uni, I was doing 5 shifts a week and then had lectures ...

A Week in Portugal

As I said in the previous post, Karolina and I went to Portugal. So let me expand on that, as we spent 7 days in my home country. Day 1 - Arriving Lisbon We waited for about 1 hour and a half for our flight, it was long but we made it. The imagine  meme started that day. With that, I mean that we started going around giving somewhat unreasonable scenarios and saying imagine . Well... Guess what, we didn't need to imagine much as it did indeed happen 100% of the time. We arrived in Lisbon and most of my family was waiting for us. My grandma had flowers and a paper with Karolina's name, while my aunt had a paper for me. It was nice to see everyone straight up as we got there. But I don't think Karolina was ready for it. Auntie asked to spend time with us and even though we wanted to, we didn't have a chance. As soon as I showed Karolina the house, there was only one comment. "You have 5 bathrooms!" This stayed until the end of the trip. Day 2 - D...

Summer Thoughts

Once again, life took the better part of my time so it took me 2 months to return here. At least I am still coming back, the day that I stop is the day all hope is lost. Going back to the past 2 months, a lot has happened so let me tell you a few things: get together and break up, make new friends, do as much as you can; have fun. The things I will remember this summer for: a failed relationship, the nights in Crown, working crazy hour-long shifts, doing what I want. It was both the best summer of my life and the busiest one. I hardly had any free time to do anything, but it was all worth it. I can say that I lived and that I did as much as I could. With summer ending, that takes me back to Uni isn't that right? Yes well, sadly things aren't as easy as I hoped for so the 3 days that I asked to have at work became 5. I am doing a full-time schedule next week, and the 2 days that I am off? Well, I have uni... Fun times init? I took Karolina to Portugal with me, but trust...
